Here are some vision care tips for you and your family:
1. Eat healthily and try to stay healthy
Establish a healthy diet that includes a lot of fruits and veggies. Consuming foods that are high in omega-3 could also do a lot for your eyes.
Also, try to maintain a healthy weight.
Having obesity will put you at risk of getting diabetes. Acquiring diabetes will, in turn, put you at a higher risk of having diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma.

Good food choices equate to good vision health.
2. Quit smoking
Smoking puts you at high risk for cataracts, optic nerve damage, and macular degeneration.
This may be difficult, but it's never too late to start.
The more times you try, the most likely you are to succeed.
If you’re finding it a bit hard to quit smoking, you may consult your doctor for help.

Don't practice "smoke gets in your eyes." It could ruin your vision.
3. Don't forget to wear protective sunglasses
Too much sun exposure is bad for the eyes. It can even increase your risk of having age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
Here’s what you can do.
Use UV-blocking sunglasses.
Choose those sunglasses that block out 99 to 100% of both UV-A and UV-B radiation.

There are a lot of styles out there. You can even shop for some sunglasses here.
4. Minimize your usage of the computer or phone screens
If your work requires you to use the computer, make sure you have prescription glasses with anti-radiation. Such glasses should provide your eyes with protection from screens.
Try giving your eyes some rest every once in a while.
Look away from your monitor, and try looking out the window or at a green wall.
Also, you can get up at least every hour or two and stare at anything but your computer screen.

Screens are a hazard. But sometimes, we can't really do away with it. (So follow the tip above!)
5. Avoid rubbing your eyes
Your hands are a melting pot of bacteria, dirt, and dust. And this is precisely the reason why we should avoid having them near our eyes.
Now stop putting your hands to your eyes to prevent irritation and infection. (If you can’t help it, be sure to wash your hands first.)
Practice frequent handwashing
Wash your hands regularly, as well as your glasses.
Yup. You have to keep your glasses clean, too. Remember how often you put them aside on your desk. And imagine just how much germs they would have acquired through time!

Please avoid touching your eyes. (Better yet, wash your hands regularly.)
Wanna maintain pretty and functional eyes?
Then please practice the above tips as often as you can.
Take note: our eyes are the mirrors to our soul, so we should make sure they will not be broken.
